W Pensacola St, Masjid (Mosque)
After our last TEFL class on Thursday, I decided to visit our local masjid (mosque) on W. Pensacola St. Upon arrival I discovered that the FSU MSA had arranged a dinner for all the people in the masjid. While enjoying the dinner, I saw Rehab! She had brought a dish to share with everyone. She was very happy to see me and expressed that she had thought of me when making this dish.
I had shared that my father loves eggplants and Rehab had told me about a few Arab dishes that use eggplants generously. On this day she bought an eggplant hummus type dish. It was quite delicious. I asked her if I could give her number to Taslima (my tutee) and maybe sometimes they could hang out. Rehab loves meeting new people and she welcomed the idea happily.
I shared with her about move plans to move to Texas very soon. She was excited for me but also sad that we probably would not see each other anymore after this.
She talked about her summer plans to finish up on her current PhD project and find a new place. The current apartment she newly moved into is not working out for her and her kids. I wished her the best of luck. I don’t think I will see Rehab anymore in Tallahassee. However, you never know where we all might end up and I might see her again.
