Nicole Tutoring 7

Harry came in and shared great news - he did very well on his informational speech and received a great grade.  That was exciting to hear!  We reviewed the usage of articles, Harry had many questions.  We talked a little bit more and then moved on.  I'm working on having Harry listen a little more when people speak.  He often provides an automatic response that is not relevant to the question asked.  I'm not sure if this is him not understanding or just not paying attention.  Some times if I say - "Hi Harry, how's your day?" he responds with "I am good".  That's not exactly what I asked.  I'm walking a fine line with this because the last thing I want to do is offend him.  It's a littler harder since Harry is an adult.  If he were a child we would do a role play exercise of common greetings and appropriate responses; I believe Harry will find an activity like that too elementary.   I hope to find a more organic way to broach this topic.  Maybe a few days will give me some room to think of good idea!
