Jacqueline CP #1
I was paired with Yueyang, a 23-year-old, 2nd year student studying English at FSU. We went to Cascades park, did some acro-yoga, then went back to her apartment and cooked baozi, a traditional Chinese steamed bun, filled with sugar! Yueyang was so sweet to talk to and was pretty articulate in her English. She asked me to correct her when she made mistakes and enjoyed learning some new words/phrases. We listened to some music and it was really interesting to hear what her thoughts were about Americans. Some positives included: friendly to strangers, helpful, patient, fun. Some negatives: fake personalities, overly sensitive, easily aggravated. I look forward to our future meetings :) One hour turned to 4!
